Ouidad Creates Curls on the Catwalk‏

Ouidad Creates Curls on the Catwalk
New York Fashion Week 2011

This season, Ouidad was the official sponsor of two high profile shows – Rebecca Minkoff and Tara Subkoff for IMITATION.  Ouidad kicked off NY Fashion Week 2011 with the Rebecca Minkoff show, the inspiration was a throwback 60’s vibe with a gypsy feel, and Ouidad’s “morning after” long, loose tousled styles were the perfect compliment to the collection.  To get the look, Ouidad used PlayCurl Volumizing Foam and Climate Control to give models a less polished “urban gypsy” look.

Below are some key images from the Rebecca Minkoff Show:

At Tara Subkoff for IMITATION, Ouidad created a femme fatale, “crazy socialite” inspired look to channel the seductive vibe.  Ouidad’s Tress Effects Styling Gel and PlayCurl Volumizing Foam helped shape the soft, 40’s Jane Russell-like curl.  The show was held at the Milk Studio Penthouse, and the front row was star studded, evidence of Tara’s huge celebrity following – including Chloe Sevigny, Gina Gershon, Natasha Lyonne, Rose McGowen and Liev Schreiber.

Fashion Week Highlights

2011 RUNWAY RECAP
NY FALL FASHION WEEK

Duckie Brown
Nicholas K
Victor de Souza

Napoleon Perdis kicked off the first official day of fashion week with a variety of looks. From the all natural, fresh faces of the Duckie Brown boys, the strong brows and nude matte lips at Nicholas K, to the extreme look of the Victor de Souza show – Napoleon and his talented team has and continues to cover it all.  At Nicholas K, to echo the rugged, outdoorsy feel, Napoleon mirrored the tones in the collection and used the Napoleon Perdis Eye Pencils and Color Discs to achieve dark tomboy brows and smoky eyes.  For the boys in the Duckie Brown show, Napoleon used his Auto Pilot Pore Minimizer and Mattifer to tone down shine and keep the look natural, yet camera ready.  Napoleon’s talent as a makeup artist really shined at Victor de Souza, where he used Eye Will Survive Eye Primer and Neo Noir Liquid Liner for high impact results.
